Central Park
: Created in 1853, this world famous park, with over 840
acres, in the center of New York, encompasses
recreational areas theater, sports, a zoo, two
museums, amusement areas food, and entertainment.
Visitors to the area can also take horse drawn carriage
rides through the park.
Empire State
Building : Located at 5th Avenue & 34th
Street in New York, the Empire State building, which has
appeared in more than 90 films stands as one of the most
famous landmarks of New York and possibly the world. With
a height of 1454 feet the ESB was considered the world's
tallest skyscraper for more than 40 years. The Empire
State building was constructed during the Depression era
and built in just over one year and was completed in
1931. With 102 floors and 73 elevators, it is possible
to be whisked from the three story high Art Deco lobby
to the 80th floor in 45 seconds. There is one observation
tower at the 86th floor offering spectacular views of
New York. |
New York Sky ride : Feel the sights from the
comfort of a specially equipped, motion-simulated,
big-screen theater seat aboard New York Sky ride.
New York
Stock Exchange: One of the significant stock
exchanges in the world, The New York Stock Exchange.
tracks the markets of North America and
elsewhere. Visitors can tour take a multi-lingual tour of
the exchange. Narration is provided, in the visitor's
gallery, in five different languages describing activity.
Rockefeller
Center: Free tour book/brochures. Watching the skating in Rockefeller
Center is considered a tradition in New York. Also
participate in the skating. Tours of NBC Studios are
available. Business accommodations can also be met in
the center. During the Christmas Season a large
decorated tree is placed in the center. |
Times Square: Located on the west side of Manhattan, Times Square has
been associated with the annual New Year's Eve countdown
and celebration for New Yorkers. The area abounds with
theaters and entertainment venues.
United Nations Plaza Building : The famous half curved
building of the United Nations is well known throughout
the world. Located on an 18 acre compound, the building
houses the world headquarters of the United Nations. The
entire complex constitutes an international zone owed by
member states.
Prospect
Park : Prospect Park is the work of landscape
architects Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, whose
achievements include Central Park and the National Zoo.
The park surrounds it's visitors in nature with 60 acres
of lake, and 90 acres of meadows. Prospect Park is the
host many annual events, including concerts, festivals,
tours, and sporting events.
